Indiana School Choice Scholarships (vouchers)
Lafayette Christian School is accepting students under the Indiana School Choice Scholarship program for the upcoming school year. Please review the materials available on the state's website at www.doe.in.gov/choice to determine if your student may qualify. Contact our Admissions Director for help with your questions about determining your student's eligibility for this program.
Lafayette Christian School’s deadline for application to be eligible for the Indiana School Choice Scholarship program is the first Monday in April for the subsequent school year. Families applying for the School Choice Scholarship must complete the Lafayette Christian School admission process and be accepted by this date.
Priority Admission and Lottery Process
Priority admission under the Choice Scholarship program will be given to students who have siblings at Lafayette Christian School and/or current students who have received a SGO grant the previous year. If, at the admissions deadline, the number of applicants that have completed the admission process exceed the enrollment capacity for the Choice Scholarship at a given grade level, a lottery will be held to determine which Choice Scholarship student(s) will be accepted. The lottery will be held on April 15 at a public meeting, or the first weekday thereafter. Once the lottery has been completed, a waiting list of applicants who have completed the LCS admission process and are accepted will be established to determine enrollment should additional seats become available.
If no lottery is determined to be needed by the Choice Scholarship application deadline, Lafayette Christian School will continue to accept students on a first come, first serve basis until enrollment capacity is reached.
School Choice Scholarship Application Requirements
Once students are accepted through the LCS admissions process their parent may apply for the Choice Scholarship program. Families must complete the required paperwork and make an appointment with a school official to complete the Choice Scholarship application online before the deadline that the state will set annually for Choice Scholarship applications.
Educational grants from Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs) may be available to qualified families. Lafayette Christian School works with the Institute for Quality Education to make these $500 grants available. Applications for SGO grants are available in the school office. Please contact our Admissions Director with your questions about eligibility and the procedure to apply for a SGO grant.
Need-based Educational Grants from Lafayette Christian School
Educational grants are available to qualified families. Our annual Celebration of Faith Dinner and Auction and other efforts raise funds for such purposes. Our goal is to be able to support families that truly desire a Christ-centered education for their children.
Applications, which include special needs and/or circumstances that warrant consideration of your request, are to be completed and submitted to the school business office at the time of enrollment. Please contact the school office to obtain an application.
All applications will require a copy of your most recent 1040 with appropriate schedules that reflect either profit or loss. Please enclose these materials in a sealed envelope addressed to the Finance Committee which can either be dropped off or sent to the school office.
