Views of Building Project

Facility Expansion
The LCS Board of Trustees and New Building Task Force responded to the school’s steadily growing enrollment (36 percent in the past six years) and space constraints (using three portable classrooms) by hiring an architectural firm to explore options for expanding and renovating our facility. The school’s Society members then voted to go ahead with the construction project, which began in July 2009.

The broad goals of the expansion and renovation project are to increase and upgrade our instructional and common spaces to meet the needs of students today and tomorrow. The work will be done in stages, as the capital campaign fund drive is able to raise the funds necessary to move ahead with each phase.

Major Elements of the Building Plan
1. New two-story addition
2. Extensive renovation of existing space
3. Campus expansion through purchase of adjacent properties
4. Redesigned parking, traffic flow, and landscaping
