Our Admissions Process

We are thrilled that you are interested in our application process. Our entire staff wants to make sure this goes smoothly. If you have questions at any time, please let us know!

first step

Begin by reviewing our school’s mission statement, philosophy, and basic beliefs.

step 2

Complete the Application for Admission. We want to know more about your family and your desire for a Christian education.

step 3

The last page of the Application for Admissions is the Partnership Agreement. Please read and sign this document. It is your agreement to partner with Lafayette Christian School in the academic and spiritual growth of your child.

step 4

Complete the top part of the Pastor’s Letter of Recommendation and then ask your pastor to complete the remaining sections. Your pastor should return the recommendation directly to the school. It might be nice to provide your pastor with a stamped envelope addressed to Lafayette Christian School.

If you are still in the process of looking for a church in the Lafayette area, you may request a recommendation from a previous pastor. We might also suggest you visit one of our partner or supporting churches.

step 5

If your child previously attended another school, we request his or her teacher to complete the Kindergarten Readiness Form for Kindergarten entry or the Student Information Form for entry into grades 1-8. We will also need copies of your child's most recent report card.

step 6

Attach a $50 application fee. This fee will be applied to your first month's tuition.

Return the forms to the school office.

step 7

Once all these forms have been completed and returned by you, your pastor, and a former teacher, the principal will review the Application Form, Partnership Agreement, Pastor’s Recommendation, and Teacher’s Report Form, including your child’s report card.

step 8

The principal will arrange for one or two board members to interview you at the school. The principal or secretary will call you to make sure the time works for your schedule.

The interview will address especially these issues:

  • That there is a credible profession of faith in Jesus Christ, and that there is agreement with the "Statement of Belief" on the part of at least one parent.

  • That there is regular participation in church worship.

  • That there is an understanding of, and agreement with, the purpose and philosophy of Lafayette Christian School.

  • There should be evidence of the potential success of the child in our academic program.

  • There should be evidence of the child’s good social, emotional, and behavioral adjustment.

  • The parents need to understand their financial commitment to the school and sign a "Statement of Commitment" to that effect.

NON DISCRIMINATION
It is the policy of the Board of School Trustees that no child shall be denied admission to the Lafayette Christian School because of race, color, or national origin.
