Welcome to Lafayette Christian School! We are pleased that you are visiting our school website and hope that you find the information helpful.

Our main goal is to provide a Christ-centered education through a rich and varied educational program. Teachers and staff are committed to reaching excellence as each child develops his or her potential as a unique individual - growing intellectually, spiritually, and physically. School activities cover a wide range - from athletic teams, art, band, choir, to academic competition experiences. Each subject area and school activity is taught within a worldview where Christ is at the center. We want our students to be able to look at the world through the lenses of biblical standards and truths.

Collaboration is an integral part of our school as parents, students, school, and church work together to educate the children of our school community. Please notice the fundraising efforts and school day volunteer opportunities that exist for parents and grandparents, as well as other supporters of LCS. Parental involvement is an essential element of meeting our mission and educational goals. Whether it is volunteering to serve lunch, helping teachers make instructional copies, serving on committees, or tutoring students our parents are highly involved. LCS is an inter-denominational school community with close to fifty various churches represented within our school family.

Our mission emphasizes meeting the unique needs of each child as image-bearers of God. We achieve this through a rigorous curriculum and a focus on individualized instruction within the classroom. Equipping students to reach their potential involves considering their readiness levels and providing learning experiences that mindfully engage them. Through our faculty professional development activities and school improvement goals, we take on a focus of continual school improvement. The proof of student learning is consistently seen in our ISTEP+ scores as well as individual student achievement.

With much excitement and anticipation, we opened our new classroom facilities at the start of the 2010 school year and a new Jr. High Wing at the start of the 2012 school year. We have been greatly blessed with financial support to be able to grow our physical space for our current and future enrollment.

Please browse our website at your leisure and complete the contact information page if you have specific questions. Julie Williams, our Recruitment Director, or I would be happy to answer your questions.

Christ’s blessings to you,

Ken Goff, Principal
